A daily word puzzle: guess the famous saying that five parrots garbled.

A famous saying went through five parrots in five ports, and every parrot got a word or two wrong. Read the mess that came out at the end and work out the original, one word per box, in six guesses. Green means the right word in the right place, gold means the right word in the wrong place, and flying back to an earlier port gives a less mangled version for a feather. Captain Pip, a retired scarlet macaw, is writing her memoirs, and you untangle each saying before her rival, Admiral Plume, publishes first. A new proverb every day, 140 ports across seven voyages and 37 parrots to collect.
