Every lost thing has a story. Send it home.

You have taken the night shift at the Lost Property Office of Wrenfield Central, a grand old railway station. Owners come to the window with half-remembered descriptions, and the shelves hold three of everything. Turn each object front to back, read where it was found, look for a dent, a scratch or an initial, and return the right one. Fifty handwritten claims across five chapters each have their own small ending. On the first page of the ledger waits Item No. 1, a brass key unclaimed since 1974, and Ada Penhallow's margin notes lead to its owner.
