Bird Notebook

PC Volume Live

A birding year in Audubon's footsteps, one card at a time.

Your great-aunt Margaret set out to see every bird John James Audubon painted in one year, and never finished. Her field notebook comes to you with a train ticket and a note: find Clara. In this solo card game, every card is a real plate from Audubon's The Birds of America, 112 birds in all. Each turn, play a bird into the forest, wetland or grassland, or use a habitat to gather food, draw cards or lay eggs. Follow Margaret's notes across 96 counts in twelve months, race three rival birders and uncover the story of Clara Beck.
