Bent FC: Tournament Edition

Bent FC: Tournament Edition

Android Volume In playtest

Bribe a whole nation into a tournament it has no business attending.

The sequel to Bent FC, and a bigger job than the first one. You are the general secretary of a small football federation and its team manager at the same time, which means you do both halves of the corruption yourself. During matches you draw the ball: aim a pass, a shot or a run and live with where it goes. Between them you run the federation, buying, bribing, naturalising, blackmailing and laundering your nation through qualifying into a tournament it has no business being at. The minigames are the bent part made literal, an envelope, a ballot, a shredder, a shaker, a dossier, each one a small deniable act with its own way of going wrong.

Dev log //

Started 9 August 2026 and immediately the densest commit rate here, because the sequel inherited a working match engine and could spend all its time on the parts that are new. Most of the log is the federation layer and its minigames, the envelope, the ballot, the shredder, the shaker, the dossier, each of which had to feel like a small deniable act rather than a button. One entry worth reading is the one dropping native-speaker review from the plan, which is the kind of scope cut that only shows up in a log written honestly.

  • Drop native-speaker review from the plan
  • Phases 1 to 4: the checks, fifteen screens, four languages, and a sink
  • TODO-UI.md: everything left to ship, in six phases
  • Get the verb and the odds chip off the goalmouth
  • The match HUD, a real goal celebration, and the title screen
  • The market, the squad and the hub, on the theme
  • The theme system: a palette, a type system, and a button that looks like one
  • The grinding noise, the crowd down 80%, and Japanese and Spanish
  • Audit round 2: the hush toggle did nothing on a case bought with a forged passport
  • Phases D, I and J: the squad reaches the pitch, every crime does something, and the game monetises
  • Phases D, G and I: the office opens, and four sweeps found what the suites could not
  • D.22 and D.23: naturalisation was inert end to end, and a crime that did nothing
  • D.19, D.24, and the naturalisation pipeline turns out to be inert end to end
  • D.14 to D.21: the chip moves, a dirty sponsor takes the shirt, two crimes were never wired
  • D.11 to D.13.2: the bracket forfeits, the market check measured the wrong statistic
  • Every bug in one place: Phase D is the bug list now
  • The third review's punchline: the branch that broke twice was watched by nothing
  • The second review found that my first round of fixes broke a season
  • The review found a crash, four dead checks and a caption that lied
  • The full pass found two real defects in the four boxes I had just closed
  • Phase D closed and the economy stops spiralling: D.8, D.9, D.10, I.9
  • Phases E, F and G: crime is reachable, and two reviews that gutted them
  • Record the fast-set budget as a step rather than living with a slow hook
  • Phases C and D: the router, the played cycle, and two reviews that gutted them
  • The re-review: three findings were not closed, and the fixes added two more
  • The suspended match remembers whose career it is
  • Close the last two review findings, and stop a check blaming the wrong half
  • Phases A and B: the guard, the career spine, and a review that found five more
  • A.1 and A.2: the two checks that would have caught all of this
  • The plan was green and the game is six screens
  • 12.3: four tracks, shuffled, and the check that first one was dead
  • The guard from the last commit did not work, and a probe proved it
  • Fix what the review found, and close the hole that hid it
  • Phase 13: two languages, one font, and colour that is never the only channel
  • Phase 12: it makes a noise, it shakes, and you can see that again
  • Phase 11: teach the game, and prove the defensive lesson is the real one
  • Fix the six things that needed fixing, then fix what the review found
  • 6.3 closed: it was the group size, not the stat band
  • Update the stale docs against what was actually measured
  • Batch the tournament sims, and a nation thrown out stops winning it
